A simple activity to learn where group members are from and one other quick fact.
A tarp or piece of material large enough to fit all group members on, or simply scratch the required shape into the dirt
How to play
Manipulate the tarp or material to create a 'map' of the state or country appropriate to where you are and where your participants come from. Ask participants to move onto the 'map' and stand in the spot that best represents their home town. Once everyone is standing in their area, ask each individual to explain where they are from by saying 'I am standing in...' followed by one other interesting fact about themselves. Facilitator tip: Example: 'I am standing in Sydney, NSW and I enjoy running marathons.'
