Sack Race Relay
One hessian sack or large pillowcase per team, cones
How to play
Divide the class into equal teams behind a start line with a turnaround cone about 15 metres ahead. The first player in each team steps into the sack and holds it up around their waist. On the signal, they hop with both feet inside the sack to the cone, turn around, and hop back to their team. They step out of the sack and hand it to the next player who steps in and repeats. Players must keep both feet inside the sack at all times while racing. The first team to have all members complete the relay wins.
Variations
Race as individuals rather than a relay for a classic carnival format. Use larger sacks and have pairs race together inside one sack.
