Traffic Jam

Arrange the 9 markers in a line so there are four markers either side of a free middle marker. Have 8 people stand on the markers, leaving the middle one free. Explain that the aim is for the people who start on the right to finish on the left, and the people on the left to end up on the right. They can only move forward (never backwards) and can only move one space at a time. If they make a mistake and cannot move, all players go back to their starting positions and try again. Once the group completes the activity, repeat it and challenge them to go faster. Timing them helps motivate the group. Facilitator tip: If you have more than 9 participants, have the remaining people write notes on how the team works together, then report back to the group upon completion.
