Tag The Iceman

Class are divided into two even teams, known as the runners and the taggers.

Memory Tag

Round Up

Divide students into groups of 4.

Octopus

All students line up at the end of the playing area side by side.

Loose Cabboose

Class is divided up into groups of 4 with each group of 4 standing in single file holding waist onto the of the student in front.

Chain Tag

One student in the class is designated the tagger.

Body Tag

Nominate four students as taggers and have them put on the colour bands.

Ball Tag

Two players are nominated as taggers.

3 Legged Tag

Children are in pairs but their inside legs are loosely tied together with a band or scarf.

Team Tag

Divide the class into 4 or 5 teams.

Line Tag

One, 2 or 3 children are taggers and have bands.

Island Tag

Hoops and ropes scattered around the area, close enough together to jump from hoop to hoop or rope to hoop.

Hug Tag

Children spread out within playing area.

Go Between

Free spacing; 1 player is “it”.

Fox and Geese

Children in groups of 4-5.

Everybody’s It

Everyone is “it” and can tag everybody else.

Catch the Dragons Tail

Children in groups of 6-8 lined up one behind the other all hold onto the waist of the person in front.

Cat and Mouse

Groups of 5-7 children, hands linked in a circle.

Bump

Children in freely spaced pairs, side by side with elbows linked.

Back to Back Tag

Children in pairs back to back, joined by linking elbows.

Amoeba

One child is “it”.

Sharks and Minnows

Set up a large rectangular playing area with two safe zones at each end (the shores).

British Bulldog

Mark out a large rectangular field with two end zones.

Red Light Green Light

Set up a start line and a finish line about 20 metres apart.

Stuck in the Mud

Nominate two or three taggers who wear colourbands.

Toilet Tag

Nominate two or three taggers who wear colourbands.

Zombie Tag

Begin with one or two players nominated as zombies wearing colourbands.

Pac-Man Tag

All players must move only along the lines of a court such as a basketball or netball court.

Elbow Tag

All players except two stand in pairs with elbows linked, spread around the playing area.

Capture the Flag

Divide players into two equal teams and split the playing area in half with a clear boundary line.

What's the Time Mr Wolf

One player is Mr Wolf and stands at one end of the playing area with their back to the group.
